Designing a website is the process of building, shaping, modeling, coding and launching media through the internet. More importantly it is an online representation of your business and the products that you offer. Image is everything and in business, as with many aspects of our everyday lives, a first impression is the key to success. Having an online presence should not be different than how you present yourself in person to your clients and prospective customers. It is imperative that your website goes a step further in the representation of your company because the web user does not have the benefit of the intimate setting of a person to person conversation. At Revive Media Services we see website design as more than just an informational resource for your company, we know that the design of a website is crucial to the three major elements of success with your website as it relates to the customers that are viewing it: finding your website, staying on your website and most importantly convincing your customer that the products you offer are the ones that they need. The look of your website will be what they immediately associate with the people that characterize your company that is why it is important that your website is visually appealing and conveys a message of professionalism to a mass audience.
There are two types of websites: static and dynamic.
- Static Websites looks the same based on browsers, screen size, font-size and the content doesn't change unless a person manually updates it. Static pages usually take advantage of tables for their layout.
- Dynamic Websites allow the graphical elements to have motion and can be set up to be more interactive with the user. You can also modify content that adapts based on the screen size, font size and browser and looks "correct" regardless of screen size or resolution. So no whether a person is viewing your web site on a cell phone or a 100" plasma TV your web site will always look right. Content can also be updated on a dynamic page through server-side scripting languages such as PHP, ASP, Coldfusion, Perl, Python and many others. Dynamic pages are usually powered by CSS, as opposed to tables.
Although there are many ways to design websites, they are usually designed using HTML or XHTML tags and contain elements like text, images, Flash animation, Javascript, Quicktime movies and forms.

The graphical elements are the components that stimulate your customers with graphics that are artistically pleasing to the eye. The content is what gives them the information to educate them on your products and services. Both of these elements are important but they have to be equally accounted for because they both serve a different purpose. The visual components are good for allowing your customer to enjoy your site and possibly navigate to other pages keeping their interest in what you have to offer. The content gives them information about your product but also communicates to the search engines that your content is important and valuable to their users.
